Event Overview

The City of Raleigh’s Hospitality and Nightlife team introduced a new initiative aimed at supporting nightlife and hospitality industry workers called HIPE (Hospitality Industry Preparedness Education). The first session of the initiative focused on training for active threats and harm reduction.

CMES Thoughts

Because this was a community-based training session, CMES took a collaborative and holistic approach aimed at building community resilience through emergency preparedness. The training emphasized the importance of advanced preparation for emergencies and the importance of a unified community response to emergency situations and targeted-violence incidents. The training provided an overview of emergency preparation strategies, emergency response strategies, and post-event recovery considerations.

Services Provided

CMES provided a 1-hour overview training session on emergency preparedness to a group community stakeholders associated with or impacted by nightlife entertainment. The training presentation was titled “Emergency Preparedness, The Pathway to Community Resilience”.
