Event Overview

Dreamville Music Festival is an annual 2-day outdoor music festival held at Dix Park in Raleigh, NC. The festival was curated by hip-hop superstar J. Cole and his Dreamville team. It is one of the most anticipated annual events in North Carolina and attracts fans from across the world to Raleigh’s historic and largest city park. This year’s festival brought 50,000 fans to the park’s 300 acres of greenspace.

CMES Thoughts

With a spectator crowd of 50,000 patrons, it was imperative that there was a dynamic private/public partnership to provide a safe event. CMES helped to ensure that private and public partners worked cohesively in the preparation and execution of event safety operations.  This coordinated effort resulted in an effective resource deployment and emergency response strategy, improved communications and inter-operability, and strengthened relationships amongst all involved stakeholders.

Services Provided

  • CMES provided consultancy services during the planning phase of this event and throughout the event weekend.
  • CMES provided liaison services and onsite consultancy services; coordinating with all public safety partners that were involved in event operations.
  • Preparing operational contingencies for such a large-scale event required months of planning and coordination. CMES worked with festival organizers and involved public safety stakeholders to ensure that planning and operational efforts were aligned, logistical safety needs were being met, and community impact was considered.
